Rich Gardner has been a licensed REALTOR® since 2005, starting his career at his family’s boutique Colchester office. It was there he learned what it takes to become a successful real estate agent and team leader. In 2012 he became an owner/partner at ReMax North Professionals, one of Vermont’s largest real estate firms. Today ReMax North Professionals has 5 offices located throughout Vermont and in 2022 won Vermont Outstanding Brokerage of the Year.

Rich manages The Gardner Group at ReMax North Professionals, a dedicated team that prides itself on cultivating enduring relationships and meaningful connections with their valued clients, all while ensuring that their real estate journey is not only successful but also enjoyable and fulfilling. Their goal is to be your real estate consultant for life. The Gardner Group recently won Real Trends America's Best Real Estate Professional Team award.

In 2004, Rich earned his degree in Architectural Engineering from Vermont Technical College. He has designed and overseen the construction of hundreds of homes during his career. His background in construction and architecture offers clients a unique perspective on the home buying or selling process.

Rich takes great pride in the real estate industry; he served on the Board of Directors of the Northwest Vermont REALTOR Association (NVRA) and in 2012, completed his term as Board President. He was nationally certified to teach the Green Designation course to fellow REALTORS®. In addition to teaching his fellow REALTORS®, he works with The Center for Technology Essex in their Building Technology program.

In 2022, Rich received the NVRA Distinguished Service Award. This award is presented to an NVRA Member who has gone above and beyond to ensure that the real estate industry and REALTOR® Associations continue to thrive.

Rich’s commitment to his community extends beyond the real estate industry. He is a proud supporter and advocate for many causes, especially Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, which provides extraordinary experiences in a safe and amazing environment for children who have or have had cancer and their families at no cost. Rich has volunteered as a counselor during the weeklong summer program, winter weekend programs, Dad’s weekend; chaired the facilities committee, served for 9 years on the Board of Directors, and is co-founder of Vermont Ice Golf Charity, a golf tournament on the icy shores of Lake Champlain benefiting Camp Ta Kum Ta.

Rich currently lives in Colchester, Vermont with his wife Allison and sons, Theo and Thomas. As a family they enjoy being active outdoors year-round, taking advantage of Lake Champlain during the summer and the woods and mountains in the fall and winter.

• "Our experience with Rich Gardner and his team was terrific from the first point of contact through our closing. We filled out an online inquiry and had a call within 15 minutes. Rich came to our house for the consultation and, refreshingly, was the only broker who visited who had not already decided what our home was worth. He brought no 'comps' with him—just wanted to see the house and what it had going for, and against it. The three other brokers we had in to compete for our business brought sales plans and comps with them and had already decided wherein the real estate pecking order our house fell. After spending 90 minutes learning our house, asking detailed questions and describing his process, he scheduled a meeting with us for a few days later (this was over a major holiday so likely would have been sooner) in which we visited him at his office and he presented his plan for how best to sell our house and position it price-wise. It is important to note that we were selling our house in an 'off' time—right after the new year—and were worried about traffic and interest. Rich assured us that our list price was do-able and backed it up by showing us apples-to-apples comparisons of homes in our area that had sold. Everyone on Rich’s team, especially Allison and Rebecca, were terrific to work with. Every time we had a question, someone was there to answer it. The follow-through/follow-up was amazing. The pictures of our house were beautiful. Now for the best part, our house sold the day it went on the market for more than the asking price with another offer as a back-up on the same day. Clearly that doesn’t always happen, but even selling a home in an off time of the cycle, Rich knew what he was doing. Our closing went well (we were dealing with terrific buyers and they had a great agent, as well) and was smooth with no big surprises. Rich has integrity and his team will earn your respect. We highly recommend Rich and the Gardner Group."
